    Walk In Areas

Some WIA and HMAs are awesome hunting, others not so much, depending on a variety of factors. I hunted an HMA last year for pronghorn, middle of the week, and saw no other hunters on it, and hundreds of pronghorn. BIL took his pick of several rutting bucks out of a group of about 30 pronghorn...

    Colorado Left Over Tag List

Nothing for me. Funny, I had a 1 minute wait time for about 12 minutes. I'm not complaining though, I'm glad everybody gets a crack at these tags.

    Colorado Left Over Tag List

I like the way CO does it. They do need to beef up their site to handle the traffic. But most states don't even try to reissue tags, at least CO let's somebody else get a crack at it.

Scouting Trip / Sightseeing Trip Booked!

Sounds fun! I'm hoping to have some time in September after a KS deer hunt to head up to MT to do a bit of scouting myself. I've got 10 days, so if I tag early in KS I'm going to keep heading (north)west. Make sure and post some pics!

Not many deer on scouting trip

If they're not moving, they're tough to spot. I hunted similar terrain, maybe even the same unit, last year. Middle of the day, glass for hours and maybe spot one or two bedded deer. Morning and evening, you could spot 20-30 deer from the same spot.

2020-2026 Season Structure - Final Recs

I was under the impression that CPW wanted to lower the age class of bucks, at least in certain regions, due to CWD. Might not be the driver to these changes, but helps accomplish the goal nonetheless.

    Kansas

Anybody putting in? I submitted my app while ago, decided to give it a try. Their season fits my schedule pretty well, and since NM saw fit to not keep my money this tag was sort of "paid for" already.

    LCH 2018 Hunting Year

2018 was pretty good to me. Started off kind of slow, with a fruitless hog hunt in Alabama and turkey tag soup in Indiana, then picked up steam once fall arrived. First hunt was Wyoming pronghorn and cow elk. First day of the hunt, BIL shot his first pronghorn: About 2 hours later, I...

    Wyoming Proposed Season/Quota Changes

I hadn't seen these posted yet. https://wgfd.wyo.gov/Get-Involved/Public-Meetings Looks like a few quota reductions, but most changes look like increases for pronghorn, deer, and elk.

    WY Elk Draw Results

I know we're still 2 weeks+ from posting, but I'm more anxious than normal this year. I've got an app in for a Type 1 and a Type 6, and plans for the rest of my fall hinge on the results. If I draw the Type 1, I probably won't apply for any other elk or deer tags (maybe a pronghorn) in case I...

Help deciding on a deer hunt - Opinions Sought

Since I was unsuccessful on my Montana application, I'm trying to decide on a course of action to make a deer hunt happen this year. I have the dates of 11/4 - 11/12 off, which really narrows down my options. The hunts I'm considering are: -Wyoming Regional F> I know this area had a tough...
