No Yotes yet? They are pretty smart.
None yet. I cant keep the trash out of my sets.

I missed a coyote on the first night I had the sets out. It stepped 1" to the left of my pan. I could see its pad print clear as a bell in the fresh dirt. It didn't even bother to work the dirt hole to get the bait which I though was weird.

I switched baits today. I'm just going to stay after them for now.

Three traps fired this morning. No catch but it looks like I may have had a pull out. Very frustrated.

I was taught to always offset my traps to left about 2 inches because someone did a study and something like 65% of the time Coyotes approach from the left. Supposedly some professional trappers set up cameras at their sets. Not sure if that is true or not but I did start offsetting me traps to the left and I did catch more coyotes after that. Not sure if that was the difference or not because I am always trying something a little different but I still offset my traps to the left of the bait hole.

You are really cleaning them out!

Funny story......
About 15 years ago we had an outbreak of skunks here. My neighbor back then was a retired USFS smoke jumper and he decided to thin them out. I loaned him my skunk live trap (not as tall so they can't lift their tail and spray). About a month later he brought the trap back and I told him that I had noticed a lot less skunks and asked "How many did you trap?". He said 19. I said wow that's a bunch and I asked what he did with them all. He said that he couldn't kill them so he turned them loose in the town park! The local paper had said that there was an outbreak of skunks at the park....LOL! I still laugh about it...................
