New Guy on the forum

Obviously not a very catchy title in this post, but nonetheless, I am new to this forum. Fairly new to hunting, about (3) years under my belt now. It has been a great hobby/habit to get into. It has helped me to gain peace and clarity after (5) combat deployments in the Marine Corps.

My hunts have all been in the Eastern Half of the US, and have been mostly Turkey and Whitetail Deer. I have orders West, way out West...Hawaii, but want to plan the ultimate hunting experience (Backcountry Elk and Mule Deer) while I am able to. Hoping that this forum gives me the insight to do that.

Definitely looking into using my bow for Wild Goat and Pig on Oahu. Plan on getting to the other islands for an Axis Deer and turkey hopefully.

Thank you for your service and good luck. It isn't the first thing that comes to most people's mind but I understand Hawaii has some decent pig and goat hunting as you mentioned.

Definitely felt safe in the big 6x6 MRAP's. Only blown up once in that one.

They are impressive. Glad to help and glad you made it through it. Still dangerous, we just try to make them safer.

I spent my time in pre MRAP. We had M113s haha.

Thanks for your service. Might want to look into hunting AK. Quick direct flights from HI, good deals on licences, and you military guys can get access to some good hunting spots. Happy hunting.
