Anyone have any good insight on when the leftover tags are going to become available for purchase? I wasn't lucky enough to draw this year and want a leftover archery tag. The sooner the better so I can hopefully get some scouting in before deploying soon. Thanks.

Check Game and Fish Website or give them a call. I usually see them post it on the side bar of their website but call them anyhow.....maybe someone there can give a faster answer. Good luck.

Well I was told they would be posted Wed...still nothing posted. Very irritating.

I was told June 25 for leftovers by the NMDGF unless that changed and that they haven't posted an official list of LOs yet but that it should be any day now that they will be posted.

Another brain fart on my part. This is NM not WY....

The problem with NM leftovers is NR have to wait till day two to buy them. Hopefully there will be one left for you.

Due to being stationed in NM because of the military, I get treated like a resident. That's why I'm trying hard to know when they'll be available and what will be available.

Well I was fortunate enough to get an archery 32 tag. The one I wanted!

Swampokie,

I have no idea on those restrictions. I need to read up as I got a leftover tag for unit 32 as well and you're right it is huge. I had 33 last year and got a nice 4x4. We had a friend that had that 32 tag last year but I don't think he went south too much. Stayed along the northern portions of the unit.

I actually think the limits and restrictions are more liberal to reduce depredation in the roswell area. Im just not sure the exact differences.

Sorry for the late reply...just deployed and that put a damper on my forum checking for a while haha. I'm planning on hunting the one I find the deer on. I know that's a vague answer but I'll have to do some scouting when I get home mid Aug and then make a decision. I'll be hunting some with my buddy acook. I'm kinda planning on finding a spot as close to Clovis as I can for evening or morning hunts and another spot to spend a solid week hunting that's further away. No idea where I'm gonna start just yet as I haven't done too much research yet.

That's a huge unit. Are you planning on hunting state land or blm? Ive driven through the unit but never hunted it.

I really appreciate the good wishes swampokie. Can't wait to get home and into the field again to do some scouting and hunting!
