Just seen a report on a private Wildlife group using Drones to help stop poaching in Colorado. Personally I think this can create a problem when other groups start using them to scare wildlife away from legal hunters. What is your opinion?

Is it a real wildlife group or a "wildlife group" that wants to stop hunting? I know some of these anti groups are trying to spy on hunters with them and cause problems.

I don't like it. I just think that it will only make the honest mad and the dishonest will find a way to be dishonest.

It is not one either of us probably contribute money to. They may have good intentions, but I don't see them being a helpful group here or around the U.S. Google contributed 5 million for Drones in Nambia or some other African country for use to help with poaching.

I think groups will use this for their agenda's and personally if I was to see one over my hunting grounds it would be getting shot at. I wonder if these same people like camera's on van's catching them for speeding or running a red light. I think this goes way beyond the use for Poaching. I see a big Pissing match coming and not that poaching is o.k.

Drone use for hunting and/or locating wildlife is addressed in this years big game brochure and it states simply that use of drones is illegal (p.13-#10). My thought is that those "groups" that would monitor "poachers" would be doing so illegally. I would agree with BleuBijou that this issue could get real messy....

It was pretty funny when petas drone got shot down back east. As in that case I think they would mostly use them to harass hunters that arent doing anything wrong and try to call everything thats not done by the book poaching.

Agreed.

I saw this this morning on the news. It was national news, but it was here in Colorado near Morrison. Looked like they were launching them from a parking area that looks like open space or something close, as it was gravel and had a few signs I could not make out.

I agree with you guys on this being a very bad thing. Poachers are "POACHERS" and hunters are "HUNTERS", there is a difference and I don't think these groups or people for that matter can seperate the two.

I would have a hard time not shooting one down if I seen one buzzing around while I was hunting................

Whats to stop the PETA types from using drones to harass hunters/wildlife and just saying "I was just looking for poachers"? I know myself, if I see a drone while I am out hunting, it gets blasted.
