Hello all. I have posted a few times before. I lurk and take notes mostly. Just wanted to get your opinions. I have 6 points so there is no guarantee I get drawn but I have been considering both unit 80 & 114. My odds are pretty good in 80. I was thinking about 60 & 61 too just poor odds.

My gut tells me to go for 114 & pick a decent 2 choice that I know I can draw nearby to scout my first choice once I tag out in my second choice. What are your thoughts. Thanks.

With the drought and most of the antelope in 114 now on private property over around Worland along the BigHorn River, there is no way I would waste 6 PPs on that unit. 80 is also overrated from what people that have hunted it the last couple years are saying, so I'd also cross that off my list if I had 6PPs to burn. I'm out there every year for at least a month and hunt between Worland and the BigHorn Mountains, know 114 well, and the locals call it the Badlands.

61 is best in the state in my opinion...67 would be next on my list.

The drought's over. There are plenty of goats out in the hills now. But, like you, I still wouldn't spend 6 points on it.

The lope in my avatar came out of 67 on opening day in 2011. Saw at least 4 more in the same class that day, even had to stop the truck going around a bend n shoo a couple bucks off the road! Hard to go wrong there.

***Glad to hear that! Several years ago you could see goats everywhere in the south half of 114 when I was deer hunting 164 over there. The last couple years you could drive the whole length of the Bluebank Road and 1404 on the south end on into Worland and be lucky to see one.
