Went to my local bow shop to check out the new Hoyt Carbon Spyder. I was hoping they had the Turbo version or a 34 but the 30 I drew was great. Anybody else had the opportunity to shoot one as well?

I did. I'm a newbie to archery but hooked on elk now so I'm in. I couldn't see the advantages being worth the money. I loved how it shot but 500 more than aluminum to shave a few ounces? I just can't see it.

The biggest seller in my opinion for a carbon bow is that it doesn't get cold to the touch like metal or wood does. Still not worth the price for me either but I think that is more important, along with carbon being stronger.

shot the carbon spyder today. That thing is absolutely money! Then I shot the faktor and thought why would anyone pay $500 more for a carbon spyder when the differences were barely recognizable to me. Granted I'm not a bow expert by any stretch, just my 2 cents.

I'm still waiting for the turbo to come in. I might just go with the 30
I'm in the same boat as you are, had a CS 30 on order and then canceled because I wanted to shoot the CST and compare. Problem is there's not a CST to be found within 200 miles and my patience is starting to fade a bit. Trying to resist reordering the CS 30

I'd be pretty excited about a carbon spyder. If that's their new bow this year I'd be really interested in one. I really liked the spyder and have been thinking of a carbon bow for awhile now. I can't wait to see the whole lineup.

Most hoyt pro shops will have a carbon spyder in one of the sizes in. The turbo is a little harder to find.

That is very true, talked to the guys at the Bow Rack there in Redding and they have only gotten one CST in so far and it was a pre order.

Gotta CS34 on order; just a 10 week wait! Food for thought: #2 cam is the hotest of the three. If your draw length is between 28-29 dont waste your time on the turbo, the 34 is making the same speed. Reason being is #2 cam. Also, check out " Carbon Spyder Death Ratlle" on archery talk. My brother called hoyt on this as he just got his Turbo and had the issues. Hoyt "says" its fixed, I know I will be highly pissed if mine comes in with a rattle!

Ordered my 2014 Faktor Turbo a couple weeks ago. Still have about a 6 week wait til it comes in. It is replacing my 2012 Vector Turbo! I'm super stoked...29.5" 70/80#...should be a beast!
