I took the wife and kids camping over the Thanksgiving weekend up in the Eastern Sierra Mountain Range to photograph some deer on the winter range. Only saw one "good" buck and a lot of management type deer.

This is a pretty awesome non-typical for the Golden State:

Not a bad 4x4 with good main beams:

Great pics.

I tried to find the buck Jerry shot a few years back and cannot seem to get that pic..... I remember it having trash as well....do you remember his buck? did it have the same characteristics as that non-typical you snapped?

Jerry's buck was a dandy! Bow killed if I remember correctly.

Sure do remember that buck....I officially measured it for P&Y and CBH. There are a lot of similarities, however this year's buck is much wider (around 30" outside). Jerry's buck was fairly narrow, but quite a bit of trash.

Nice pics Roy. A friend of mine ended up killing the wide 4x4 going away in your 5th photo. He was broken up pretty bad... looks much better on here!
