The key and pleasure of hunting is get out of the truck. The most dissapointing thing for me is when you have worked hard covering ground just to top a hill and look down to find a truck load of guys sitting there watching you as you bust your hump in hopes you push game out. c'mon hahaha they ain't gonna run down and hop in the bed of the pickup, get out and push them buggers around it could be a blessing for everyone.

A couple of years ago I had one day to Elk hunt. I was planning on a big (hard) hunt in a nasty drainage/north slope with a lot of downed logs, etc. It was barely shooting light and I was 100 yards from my parking spot when I spotted an Elk on the side of the road. I parked the truck, got my bow out/put on my release/knocked an arrow and walked into the brush with my tennis shoes on. 15 yards off the road, I shot the bull at 20 yards. The Bull then ran up the hill to the road and died next to the road.
I am kind of ashamed but at the time, we needed that Bull.
