Since we are getting crazy on the deer thread, how about we give some love to the season that starts 10 days earlier. In T-minus 29 days, 13 hours I will be sweating my ass off in a blind in the Nevada desert.

My bro will be doing that also. I will be walking the flats sneaking on a big old pronghorn.

Those are some pics of some bucks I found. Didn't find any big bucks and I decided I am turning in my tag. I will get a bonus point and will be able to hopefully draw a northern washoe/ lovelock unit in the next couple years here the hunting should be better. And that the pronghorn live on public land!

Good luck to all the hunters!

Dont get discouraged vlvt! Keep the tag and pound the flats. Theres a good buck in there. You've seen a few over the years. Get away from the fields and all the antelope live on public. Dont even look at the fields! Have you asked any of the landowners if you can hunt their pivots? Most dont care for the antelope. Now if its a bruiser like this ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373394776.908111.jpg someone probably has it named and their wife likes to look at it in the mornings. But most ranchers dont get attached to antelope.

I asked the landowners but they are all owned by the same corporation that allows no hunters. 1 rancher told me in 09 (2 years before I had the 1st tag) he lets archers hunt the ranch. I would rather take a full week hunting deer than 4 days pronghorn and 3 deer. It's the best option for me to turn in the tag and have a successful deer hunt.

Well, just got a call from another hunter who was up scouting my area that my water hole dried up. Was up there 2 weeks ago and had a feeling this was coming.... damn thing was huge the past two years and now nothin. Big thanks to the guy who got the contact info I left in the blind and was nice enough to call. Now on to plan B. It's going to be a busy weekend.

Omg! I hunted last Thursday (first day) missed my first antelope while sitting in a blind over water (perfect setup). Today I go back out to another area find a nice buck bedded stalk/low crawl to 50 yards, set up decoy....buck comes in to about 32 yards, I missed again. I'm using a Chuck Adams range finder been shooting my bow rigorously since February with 900 arrows by last count beginning of July. What's the matter with me or are they literally that small? Help....I'm completely beside myself right now!

Did you practice with an adrenaline rush?! :) its a game changer for sure! Quit looking at horns. Stare at the heart. Aim small miss small.

It's a natural phenomenon that once you get hair in front of your pins they start to vibrate............more focus, more focus !!!!
