After seeing a buck out in Ely this past weekend, I am pumped. Even more so than before. This is the year. I know it is!

You guys that drew this year I think are in for a Epic horn growth year. With all the rain we have gotten there will be plenty of groceries for the deer to eat.

I sure hope so, from what I saw, growth in the past few years was pretty weak. I saw 20 different bucks last year that all had very similar 3-point dink rack. If I hadn't known better I'd have sworn I was looking at the same buck all season, it was pretty disappointing. Fingers crossed IKIC is right and not just screwing with us.

Man do I hope so. There were some decent bucks I found last year that could explode this year then!

Can any of you tell me what the moisture conditions are like in the Schell range. Was it a dry year? Hoping it's not too dry.
So far its been pretty dry. Some locals have said its the driest they have seen in a long time. I think further north is hanging in there but I know around ely its pretty bad.

Ely though seems to have alot of water though. I am hoping in central Nv it won't be bad.

There is some high country that always has water. I think the rains really help the lower country. The monsoons always come a bit late to help the growth. But if I were hunting archery I would definitely look at areas above tree line that have water a plenty. Come to think of it thats the only areas I hunt for archery!
