Access road closed areas are always good because they will keep a lot of the lazy out, but if it's a high recreation area for hikers, it might not be a good spot. As far as what type of terrain, It depends where you would like to hunt. I've seen deer in real thick stuff as well as the more open country. It also depends on your style of hunting. If you have good optics and enjoy glassing, I would pick an area that is more open to glass. The most important thing about being successful in a zone like D14 is to keep at it and don't give up.
