I've got an assortment of lenses with a Canon 7D. Those were taken with a 70-300 and was running it in auto because none of the subjects would sit still. I'll post some later taken on manual settings. I really need to start taking some in RAW and using software to edit them.

I enjoy photography too packmule. I've enjoyed seeing some of the landscapes and critters you've been posting. I use a Canon 60D camera and really like Canon products too. I think shooting in RAW and using editing software really does somewhat help pop pictures a bit. I enjoy seeing the new technology advance in most things and photography is surly one of them. Learning it all is an ongoing process, challenge and adventure. Tonight I edited a couple pictures I took resently using some toning software I've been learning. Original and the edited versions. It's all art expression I suppose but so many things to learn and it is very fun to capture the moments in time.

Those look good, Kevin. It's amazing how far photography has come over the past 10 years, even <5 yrs in affordability. I tried my hand at editing some jpegs (below), but I'm going to do a round with it set on RAW and see what I can do with it. They still dont have the pop that I'd like. I'm still fairly new, the jump from cams was more than I thought it would be, but I'll get there.

Those pictures looks cool packmule. It took a few seconds for me to realize the moose antlers in the pictures. That was a nice touch and both are beautiful pictures. We are limited in picture size here on the forum in seeing the full color and vibrant detail but they look awesome in what I see in the post.
Lots of cool innovation has evolved in photography and videography in the last decade and it is fun learning all the new tools that are available now to help bring out the detail and control in creating them. Back in my college days "before digital film", processing and developing film was so much different. It is by far more user friendly now days than having to use all those chemicals in dark rooms.
It makes it all the more fun for the average person like me that enjoys photography. I'm learning new things like HDR or High Dynamic Range photography, stitching the under, over and normal exposures together all into one and there are so many new software companies creating awesome products. I'm sure they innovation in cameras and in the editing software will continue to improve which in amazing.
I for one am enjoying the journey in learning the new technology and innovations.

It was difficult to get a well manicured St. Augustine lawn to resemble moose country
Luckily I've never had to spend any time in a dark room. I did spend 5 years of schooling sitting in computer labs, so I feel the software usage will come easy once I really get to tinkering around with it.
