I think the news said towards the end of the month they will start releasing them.
That’s nice, do it towards the end of winter, when the deer and elks’ fat reserves are at their lowest. You got another 5 years of good hunting before your herds have declined and you see the full impact of the wolves.

That's absolutely insane - releasing wolves in the winter. How can they do that and say it isn't to reduce the animal herds?

My guess they are trying to get a breeding pair/pairs released in time for them to establish a territory and have pups this spring to help accelerate how fast the wolf numbers grow. It’s going to be like a buffet to them because your deer and elk will have to learn how to deal with a new different predator.
