Savage Lightweight Storm in .308
Sig Sauer Whiskey 5
Hornady Precision 178 gr ELDX

Weight came into just under 8 lbs. I could have gone with a light scope but I was willing to have a few more once?s to have this scope in the set up.

Looks great. I bet we'll be seeing even more big mule deer racks on the shelf now! Anxious to hear how it shoots.

IKIC, That is a sweet setup. Is it the new elk rifle or??
Yes elk and deer.

If I draw the tags I should draw this year I will have 3 back pack hunts and wanted lightweight rifle for elk and deer that didn’t break the bank.
I did a lot of research and could have spent a fortune on a custom/semi custom rifle that wouldn’t have been much lighter. I wasn’t willing to spend thousands for ounces.

Me too. It’s pouring rain or I would be out shooting it.

I’m not going to put a muzzle brake on this one either. Hope it doesn’t hurt too bad. Lol

How do you like it so far? What features do you like on that scope and what would ya compare the glass quality to? How much was the full setup?

So far so good. I finally got out last weekend and got sighted in and zeroed at 200 yards.

Glass was extremely clear compared to Vortex Razor on one of my other rifles and much more clear then Vortex Viper scope on another I have.

Total cost is under $1400

How does the Whiskey 5 perform? Does it have any problems with sun glare?

Great performance, didn’t notice any sun glare but it was a bit overcast.

I will be out again in a few weeks to shoot some more and I’ll report back.

MOA at 200 yards.

At 100 I had 2 shots that were touching.

I should have taken photos. I will on the next trip and post them.
