Thanks. I chased him for two years with a bow and couldn't close the deal on him. I drew a North Dakota rifle mule deer tag this year and had to resort to using the rifle which wasn't as satisfying as it would have been with a bow but I'm extremely happy with him.
Make sure Todd see this buck!

Buck2018.jpg

Just sharing this photo of the mule deer buck I got in Montana the last week of the season. Not a huge buvk but a respectable 3X4. It was special because my son was with me for the whole experience (stalk, shot, recovery, gutting, and gettting him back to truck.) It was a tough chore in tough conditions getting him out, but my son enjoyed the whole process and is ready to get one himself next year! Just the way it should be.

Aspen patch buck!
That's only the second buck I've ever killed in the aspens. The first was over 30 years ago, when I was 16.
Usually I kill them in the pines mixed with buckbrush, sage and mahogany or lower in the junipers.

The Montana bucks my Dad, Nephew, Brother and I shot this fall. The last time we hunted mule deer was in 2010, tough to break away from hunting whitetails in Montana every year.

My nephew's first buck mule deer:

My brother got this one the next day:

Dads buck a couple days later:

I really had no intention of shooting a deer on this trip, but my brother and I had a couple hours the last morning to look around while my Nephew and Dad tore camp down.

Figured with only a couple hours to hunt, and really unsure of time to get back to chase whitetails...

Probably shouldn't wait another 8 years to hunt mule deer again in Montana, we'll see.
