Has anyone listened to the built to hunt pod cast with Jason Hairston of KUIU about these types of base layers and there use? I found it pretty interesting, I had it backwards according to what Jason says, those who have heard it what are your thoughts?

Out of the following who would you buy merino base layers from and why? I am in the market for some.

Black orvis
Kryptek
KUIU
Sitka

I had been wearing Core4Element merino base layers for probably the last 5-6 years, and I really like them, a lot. They've recently started to wear out/tear, but after that long, I kind of expect it.. I've got a smartwool tshirt, that I can't wear for very long, it gets itchy..

I recently ordered a bunch of new merino wool through Camofire, the Black Ovis stuff, which seems to be the exact same thing as the old Core4 stuff.. Maybe it is.. Either way, I'm really happy with it, and it just so happens to be on Camofire right now. You can about get a whole set of Black Ovis base layers for the price of the Sitka bottoms..

Loveland, CO. was AZ.
I’m a First Lite user.... been using their products for about 8 seasons. However, I do have a couple articles of Sitka merino wool that I received as gifts from family members.

First Lite... they brought merino wool to the hunting industry because the founders are hardcore outdoorsman who were using it in all other aspects and saw the need for hunting specific merino. Also of all companies, First Lite puts a ton back into public land preservation and conservation. Great people and company and i will always support them over others for that reason on top of others
