That first video you posted is way better than what I did. Holly smoke! They libe in the river real close to me but can you believe I have never fished for them? Its time to start!

they like the deep water with a current and they are bottom feeders.
we just used worms ,#6-#8 hooks with a weight on bottom and hook about 18 or so inches up. weight size , heavy enough to cast way out and heavy enough to hold in the current.

Common baits down here (where the Snake meets the Columbia) are pickeled hearing, pickeled squid, and tuna balls (canned tuna wrapped in spawn sack). Theyre fun to tug on and can be found at the base of pretty much any dam and deep holes with current. It's not very exciting fishing until you hooked up.
