It is always interesting in hearing how many shots are taken at game animals. Then there are the ones in camp that brag that they only take one shot to kill a animal. I then ask them why they are packing 3 or 4 boxes of extra ammo with them when they go out.

We once had a nimrod in deer camp one year. He bragged that he had practiced all summer long and was prepared to go out into the woods with his grandpa's trusty old 94 Winchester and bag the quarry. He left camp with two boxes of 30-30 shells in his backpack along with a full bandoleer of ammo slung over his shoulder. Come dark he hadn't returned so we had dinner. He still wasn't back after dinner and we were about to head out to look for him when he came into camp. He didn't have a single round for that 30-30 left........we didn't say a thing. Then a while later after he had sat by the fire for about a hour he just blurted out "I missed" We didn't say a thing but still kid him about it to this day 45 years later.

sounds like a guy I know here, only instead of all the excess ammo he brings every gun he owns to each hunt, like he's the schwarzeneggar or something.lol

I dunno ,maybe he thinks he's back in nam.

Perhaps he doesn't trust his wife by leaving them at home.

I know of a person that left for a weekend and came home to nothing including his firearms. His wife had decided that she had enough of him. It took a long time before he got them back.
