Was out hunting first week in Sept, only had a couple doe tags in my pocket, just wanted to get out of IN and back to WY for a little bit. The hunt was harder then I thought it was going to be. They must have been beat up pretty good the first couple weeks of the season. I brought a co-worker with me and it was his first antelope hunt, he had a great time. I got to use my J-34 pack for the first time, and hauled two quarter antelope out with out a problem. Seen lots of mule deer and some decent bucks as well. We doubled on the first day, I filled my tag the second day, then took a couple more to fill my co-workers last tag. I was shooting a savage Model 10 6.5 CM, and co-worker a Rem 700 30-06, that I put in a boyd thumb hole stock to get it to shoot accurately.

How did you like the savage 10 in 6.5 creedmoor? I'm looking at a few different models in that chambering, always interested to hear personal accounts!

Here is a 500 yard group and a couple 100 yard groups. These were shot with factory ammo and a cheap caldwel bi pod. I chose the savage because I have always had great accuracy from them. Its the 10T to be exact and a cabelas exclusive. I bought it on sale for $499 and got a $75 rebate. It has the accustock so it is free floating the barrel. There are other cheap options out there, but they have the cheap tupaware stocks and they can effect acuracy when the stock touches the barrel with different presure every shot. Thats why I had to put my co workers 30-06 in a laminated stock, went from 4" groups to 1"

Every savage I owned shot well. And for cheap money.

The other cheap bargain are old Remington 721,722s
