Made a few minor adjustments to my bow and decided to double check my broadhead flight so I went outside and drew the bow back last night while and went to fix my glasses on my face with my thumb while at full draw and bumped the trigger on my release and shot a 20$ arrow out through the woods.

I didn't think it was possibly for an arrow to go that far through the woods without hitting a tree.

I didn't see where it went but 5 seconds after I loosed the arrow I hear it hit a tree....

Need to do a quick calculation to see how far that would have traveled..I don't think I walked far enough to look for it and im pretty certain I will need an extension ladder to get it....

Haha that's good stuff dude! Reminds me of the first time I watched my dad shoot my bow, similar instance and shot a $20 arrow right into a concrete wall! haha

I think that we all have bumped a release and shot a arrow somewhere that it shouldn't of gone.

Been there did that.

My problem was that after I did it once while target shooting about a dozen arrows later I did it a second time. After the second one I put the bow away for the day

well at 300ft/s for 5 seconds your at 1500ft. Of course your arrow isn't going to do 300ft/s until it hits a tree due to gravity and friction. And maybe your bow only shoots 270ft/s, etc.....

When that happens, just say you were using your "tree" pin and hit right where you were aiming. Sounds like your effective range with your "tree" pin is about 400 yards which is excellent.

It is funny to think some random person will eventually find these errant arrows we have all shot and they will wonder what in the heck was getting shot at.

I've lost arrows shot from deer stands and know exactly where they went. Found arrows years later as well. amazing how well they can hide.
