Hiding a white hunting dog...

I asked for advice on here a while back. My white lab sticks out pretty bad while hunting anything but snow geese. Tried a couple vests and dog blind ideas but ended up settling on a burlap blanket. He loves it compared to the other options.

Not bad camo. I pull grass and weeds to throw on top. He ends up being hidden better than I am most of the time. He will actually go completely under when I tell him to.


Back under the blanket after a bloody retrieve.

He won't wear a dry jacket? Our labs loved their dry vests, it meant they were going hunting. It kept them warm and somewhat dry underneath and it protects from the stubble on their stomach and chest. Mack's and Cabelas have good ones for the price. Neoprene was not a problem for them to wear and you can cut them to fit your dog exactly. Handsome lab he is!!

My wife would lose it lol. He is too "pretty" in her words. As fast as they shed and replace it wouldn't last long I'm afraid.

I can see it now, a camo'ed dog.

I like the burlap idea best. Even in the early seasons he won't over heat under it and if he likes it all the better.

Good looking pooch! My Labs were pretty light as well. As long as they stood still, not a problem. First lab was great about lying down and waiting....current Lab likes to bark

So he gets the bark collar when hunting, and not the power-steering / remote control (Tri-Tronics)

I know a guy who used women's hair die for his lab and turned him brown for the entire hunting season. Thats no joke and it made a huge difference on how the birds worked our spread.

The dog didn't seem to mind..... He go to retrieve 2X the amount of birds.

Ok, i'll have to dig thru my text messages when I have time. I know this past St. Patrick's Day she dyed a white Maltese green.
