OTC or leftover Antelope Tag?

Are there any areas a guy can buy an OTC or leftover Antelope tag? I've never hunted them before, but looks like a lot of fun. Archery would be my first choice, but I'd be open to a rifle hunt depending on the timing.

I've gone to MT the last 2 years for archery antelope. The 900 series tag is a mostly statewide archery tag that is basically a guaranteed draw.

I'm 0-2 so far. But it's a lot of fun.

For rifle there are usually a lot of leftover tags in Wyoming, just keep in mind those units tend to have little public land.

Why worry about a leftover tag? You have more than 3 months to apply for a tag in Wyoming.

Yes apply for a tag. The leftovers in Wyoming will probably ba a draw this year instead of first come first served. Some tags are set aside for random drawing. Doe tags do not take PP.

If archery is your first choice, you have a lot of options in multiple states. If I remember right, you still have to draw, but the tags are unlimited or run almost 100% draw rate. ID,NV,MT and even OR (I'm sure I'm missing some other states) have options for the archery only hunter. WY is the way to go as far as having rifle opportunity IMO though. MT has been good to me also.

Why will they have a draw this year instead of FCFS? Did Wyoming change the format for issuing leftover tags this year?

The proposal is to go to a leftover draw. Have not heard definitive yes on it yet. Anything left after the leftover draw would be FCFS.

Not looking to commit to anything for Antelope via the draw. I put in for most other species. However, if I could buy a leftover tag after all my other draws got sorted out. That's what I'd be looking for this season. Seems CO is the only option for that?
