Eastmans and Kuiu

It's sad to see that the hunting community has come to things like this.

Personally I'm going to continue not buying kuiu, aside from that I hope it all gets sorted out soon. Hunters have enough enemies without turning on ourselves.

As my Assistant Directors says often, "the truth is probably somewhere in the middle..."

While I am very new to this forum, I have been very pleased with my time here, and even picked up a recent copy of Eastman's Hunting Journal magazine...and plan to subscribe.

Having lived through a very nasty divorce, I can honestly say the only real winners in any legal litigation are the attorneys.

Best of luck to Eastman's Publishing Inc. You have my support.

Glad to see something posted on this issues as it was in the news earlier this week. I hope things are settled quickly as it will be best for the hunting community.

I am certainly not an expert on litigation but I have been involved with many as part of my job. Looks like KUIU may have dropped the ball on this one. I hope it gets worked out quickly.

Thanks for the support guys. Like the release says it's a business dispute. It's a shame that it's gone this far.

What an unfortunate circumstance, it's never fun chasing receivables but it just has to be done. Really disappointing to see that come from Kuiu

Agreed. Plus I feel like I've personally received about 40,000 - 50,000 copies of the Kuiu advertisement insert mysellf over the past year or so. :) Well maybe not quite that many but Eastmans' (and others) have certainly helped them get their word out.

I'm at elk/mule deer camp now and feel like putting my attack pants in the fire. ☺Can't though because my Kings Camo pants are walking and talking all by themselves.

I won't take sides since I don't know the truth and I've seen enough professional legal battles to know that both sides likely truly believe they were wronged by the other.

I am a big believer in Eastman's and will continue to be a subscriber.

I will still buy KUIU gear because it has performed very well for me. (I would however like to see a more pro-public land stance by KUIU.)

Hopefully this is resolved soon and both parties can shake hands and call it a day.

EDIT: Thank you, Eastman's, for issuing the press release so we could see the other side of the story, I appreciate it.

Never heard of them until I came on this forum. I thought they were a little over priced but after reading more here, I bought a pack. It's OK but not perfect. There are lots of other companies with good products. I think they absolutely missed the mark on the value of advertising here.

Truth. I wouldn't even know who they were if it wasn't for Eastmans.

I just found out last year that Kuiu is located in Dixon, Ca., only 15 miles from my house. Never have even bothered to go in the place; their prices are out of my range as to what I'm willing to spend. Most out of state tags are cheaper than a Kuiu shirt, pants and jacket combo!
