300 WSM Brass

I've been striking out on finding Winchester 300 WSM brass lately. Does anyone know when more will hit the market?

A local gun shop told me they weren't expecting any for a long time. I've found Nosler and Norma. I may have to go that route. I'm not wild on the price, even though it is good stuff.

I've heard good things about Nosler and Norma but never used them myself. A cheaper route would be to buy some loaded and clean and resize it. That's what I've been doing with Federal brass.

You might be hard pressed to find any this close to hunting seasons.

On the Norma brass, it is good brass. I have been using it for my Weatherby rounds and have had zero problems. But then Norma is who manufactures the Weatherby brass in the first place.

I shoot a 7 wsm and could not find brass for it other than the couple hundred rounds I saved. So I started buying 300 WSM in Norma Brass and fire forming it to fit my 7 wsm. That is the best brass I have reloaded and they are my most accurate loads.. Very pricey, but it is the best made.

I also have a 7mm wsm and use Norma 270 WSM to fireform.

If you can find 270 WSM, you can just neck up the up.

Look for norma or nosler, you have better odds of finding the more expensive brass vs Winchester.

I've been looking for brass for my 300wsm for a year, last weekend I just went ahead and bought two boxes of loaded ammo and spent some practice time at the range. It's hard to find new brass for less than $2 each. You can get A box of corelokt or Winchester silver tips for less than new brass (about 35 bucks for a box) and it's like a free day at the range (at least that's what I tell my wife). I full length resize all my brass, pretty much only shoot 180 TTSX's over 68.5 grains of RL19 and get about 4 reloads from each brass - nickel plated or not makes no difference in my experience in accuracy or longevity.
