Region 7 youth deer hunt

Friend and I are taking our sons opening week of the general season for their first mule deer hunt. It's their graduation present a little early. We'll be staying in broadus. I've hunted the area several times but it's been 5-6 years. We usually hunt some block mgmt and some public north of town. Always down well but interested in some new country. Anyone have any info on the areas southwest of town or up towards Ekalaka?

Order the new block mgmt guide, plenty of it towards Powderville/Ekalaka as well as due east, at least there was last year.

BMAs come out online on 8/15 and reservations can be made on 8/22. Spend some time on the puter looking at any in the area you are talking about. Use google earth or another satellite program to look at the terrain and access ans see if any that limit hunter numbers have good cover or early season habitat and try to get a reservation on 8/22.
