The whole wolf reintroduction "thing" has been a fiasco. Anything we can do to mitigate the damage or the potential for damage these alpha predators cause is justified. Anyone who disagrees will be sentenced to hunting the Lolo zone and only the Lolo zone for ever.
And you will die a vegetarian...............

A dead wolf is a dead wolf, however, hunters can't afford the negative publicity. I wonder if who did it is a hunter, or just an opportunity killer.

this is a sore subject ,but the fact remains that Canadian wolfs belong in Canada,,,they are an invasive species,,,once our original wolfs went away in the early 1900's ,,,they will never be back,,,,don't reintroduce a species that doesn't belong here in the first place.

Guy Eastman wrote a good article about this issue. He points out just how much hunters will receive blame for, what most people believe is a reprehensible act. Whoever did this is a criminal but it's more likely than not, in my opinion, a hunter too. That's unfortunate for us all. If I knew who did this, I'd turn him in, in a heartbeat and donate the reward to a good wildlife management program.

I am sometimes surprised at the misdirected hatred that gets spewed out on the wolves. I doubt that the wolves asked to be introduced. They are doing what wolves do, they kill things! They are not evil, they're just wolves. Idiot people dumped them on us and have caused them to propagate to a level never fully anticipated (hopefully). Our effort and money would be better directed towards defeating radical preservationist groups that can't see the wisdom in proper wildlife management, which includes predator management. Going on public forums and stating that we should kill all the wolves certainly is not going to further our cause towards the better, it just put us on a par with the other side of the issue.

Learn about sound management strategies for wildlife. It more complicated than you might believe. The more you know, the more intelligent you can argue our points about predator/prey management and interaction. Learn all you can about wolves and their interaction with other species and the environment.

The wolves are here. We'd best get used to it because we'll never eradicate them. I'm not a "wolf lover", I have shot several of them. However, I would never shoot one illegally or do something as dumb as what happened in Idaho.

My thoughts; get involved, attend meetings that address wildlife management, make your voices heard in a positive manner, especially to legislators and decision makers. Donate money to good organizations like RMEF, etc. We can make changes without resorting to civil disobedience or writing caustic blogs on public forums.

it is one thing to disagree ,another to blatantly break the law. instead of longing for revolution , the more logical approach might be to put all that energy into using the system we have in place to change the world to what you want.

the system works very well for the libs. you know why? because they actually have the will, patience and determination to get what they want.
the system is set up so majorities cannot run over minorities but minorities can only run over the majorities when said majorities lack the will to use the same laws they share with the libs

True hunters with a passion for the outdoors and hunting as I think most of are on this forum should lead and set examples of ethical sportsman behavior. In my opinion we cannot pick and choose the game laws that we will obey based on emotions or personal opinions as to which are right and wrong. Laws that ineffective or erroneous should be challenged but in a proper manner, not ignoring them because of what we feel is right and wrong. Game laws are put into place for reasons and sometimes the wrong reasons but those still have to be abided by until changed. If we are going to protect the future of hunting for our children and their children we need to insure that game laws are enforced and those laws that are a actual detriment to hunting be challenged in the right way. ( I respect everyone thoughts, these are just mine )

The statements above are well said, and ill just through my 2 cents out as well. . The best way for us to combat the antis especially revolving around wolves and now grizzlies..which are a whole other story, Is with logical and educated communication publicly. The worse thing to say is the whole "Shoot Em ALL!!" It makes us HUNTERS and OUTDOORSMAN, sound like uneducated backwoods hicks. I go out of my way to learn the biological data around both delistings and the exact numbers. This way when i pull up to a water hole here in Anti heaven of Yellowstone area Jackson Hole and get in a conversation with someone who is from nowhere near here but just hears one side of the story, when im done talking, they actually sit there and understand the situation much better and I have honestly had people go from anti to understanding just by giving them facts in a conversation, not an argument. We are our own advocates, and to continue to manage predator populations especially, we need to stay informed and intelligent on the subject matter in order to show the people who have no clue, what is actually happening.

I wish you could work your magic on the idiots in Sacramento. They barbequed and ran out of office a fish and game(excuse me, fish and wildlife) commissioner for shooting a legal mountain lion in Idaho. The legislators in Ca passed a law making mountain lion illegal to hunt even against the wishes of the biologists and fish and game department. Now they have wolves! The deer hunting in Ca is Crap. And a big reason is the mountain lion problem. The fish and game has no say so over it. No wonder the last fish and game commissioner that actually hunted or fished has resigned. I don't live there anymore but have friends and family. Not saying I would break the law but it doesn't bother me that there are fewer wolves. Trust me the antis don't hate us any more or less.

The system is broken. It doesnt work. If it did wolves would of been delisted years ago instead of being tied up in court while our game herds were destroyed. If it really worked wolves would have never been introduced in the first place. The whole introduction was illegal.
