Colorado Leftover Tag List

I failed to check the leftover draw on mine and my daughters online applications, is there a way to see this list online on CPW website? Or is it ONLY mailed to those that checked it off appropriately? We will be elk hunting 2nd rifle in Unit 521, maybe it is automatic that there are NEVER any deer tags after the initial draw for this unit?

The majority of the rifle buck tags do go in the drawings and the ones that are usually left over are for private land or land that has access problems.

There will be a list of what is left for a first come first served coming out on their web site on July 18.

Not to confuse people if you checked the box for left over tags you get first choice on them before they go to the general public or those that selected "A Refund" in which case the list will be out in July.

Correct!! This is the list that the people who checked the box get to choose from before the general public who did not check the box.

But if you check apply for the leftover tag is it a first come first serve or is that entered into a lottery as well?

It's been over 20 years since I got a left over tag but I believe that they are first come first served.

It has always been another draw unless it has changed.

As I said it has been a long time since I have even checked that box. I have always managed to draw either my first or second choice.

I got my leftover selection in. If the hunt is OK then I'll just make it 2nd choice next yr. Love the idea of hunting mules every yr.

Don't forget also......when the hunt recaps come out (a lot earlier than the leftover list) you can already see how many in the top left box are leftover......vice waiting on the list to be mailed.
