Since I got skunked in Nv I just put in with one point for the X6A zone and the X7 zones. Hope to draw and find a nice cross buck.

I got skunked one time, too. Darn thing crossed the road in front of my truck and he caught the right front wheel. LOL

I can certainly understand that. Last year I drew zero tags but I went to AZ on an archery hunt my brother had for bugling bulls and having those bulls bugling in your face at 20-30 yards is incredible.
Then later we hunted here in NV for my sons bull and was watching over his shoulder as he pulled the trigger on his bull.
It was almost as good as pulling the trigger myself, almost.

Hate to burst your bubble but with 1 point your only chance at drawing is being in the random draw that 10% of the tags go into. The lowest points that drew those zones last year were 3.5 and 4 points.

You could always pick up a D3-5 or D6 tag if you just want to get out and hunt deer.

I'm sure your rite but yes I do know that if I do t draw I can get a D tag.

I was told I should be able to draw with 1 point in the AO X6 zone but what someone says doesn't mean it will happen. I'll prob forget the deer and buy a bear tag if I don't draw the X6.

2015 Draw Statistics shows;

You needed at least 3.5 points to have a chance to draw an A11 tag (X6A Archery)
You needed at least 1.5 points to have a chance to draw an A12 tag (X6B archery)

If your just interested in burning your point and then getting out of the Cali game i would suggest an A1 tag (C Zone Archery Only), it's good for all the C zones. There's still plenty of deer in the Almanor, Butt lake, Chester area. App deadline for Cali is June 2nd......

Cali has 10 business days after the app deadline "june 2nd" to post draw results, that would be june 16th they will prob be available online. The wait is NOT quite over......

Sometimes CA posts the results early before they say they will. Could be any day this week.

Anyone ever draw an x zone with no points in CA? Or pickup a leftover tag? I'm sure there is usally no leftover tags, but I'll lean on the experts.

X10 usually has tags given out to 2nd choice applicants, and a few archery hunts in the xzones give out tags to 2nd and 3rd choice applicants. X9b archery(A17) had 300 tags last year and only 39 people applied for it as their first choice. So they may have leftover tags this year.
