Here is a shout out for Leupold's warranty service.

I had a minor problem with my 10x42 Cascades binoculars that I have had now for close to 10 years. All they needed to have done to them was to have the swivel tightened up to where they would stay in one place. I sent them in 2 weeks ago. The came back home to me today and instead of fixing the problem they sent me a new set of 10x42 Cascades. I'll take me a while to get used to the black case since my old one were a desert tone but they will do quite nicely.

Thanks Leupold.

The part that surprised me was that there was one missing part that I lost on my last hiking trip and instead of just replacing it I got a new set of binos.

Leupold is awesome on warranty. I can attest to many instances where they have done the same for me and several of my friends.

Exact same experience this year. I sent a 10 x 42, 12 x 50 and a rangefinder to them. They all had minor work they needed.....instead brand new binos and upgraded my rangefinder to the 1000yd model ( I turned in a older 750 model). It was a quick turnaround also!

Its cheaper for them to send you new ones than it is to diagnose problems and mess around. It makes the customer happy and keeps them buying their products. Seems like a terrific way to run a business model. This is why you will always see Vortex optics and Leopold on my rifles and around my neck.

I was just going to say the same about them replacing vs repairing.

I sent in a 1977 gold ring scope, and they went thought it and fixed what was wrong. Glad they didn't send me a new one actually.

My scopes are made in the US, and my Mojave's are made in Japan.
If you tear into one.......you may see different......some are 100% made in USA......about 70% of their product line is either made in the R.O.C or parts are made there and assembled here. Either way I'm fine with that.

It is hard to find anything anymore that is 100% made here in the US, it just isn't going to happen.

But with the quality that Leupold puts out they are still my go to for optics, and with this experience they just solidified it.

Now that you mention it I remember reading a conversation about how almost all the lenses produced these days comes from China, regardless of where it is assembled.

Even the Gold Ring binoculars have been discontinued and are in transition.
