Thanks! I don't think there is much difference other than some spring bears have less fat to deal with. Not this guy though! He was fat and happy. Had some great stew and stir fry so far.Good job Joe! What's your opinion of how spring bears taste compared to fall bears? I haddn't shot a bear in many years until last fall because I just wasn't sure what to do with it. That bear has been fantastic eating and I definitely want another bear this fall!
Thanks! That is seven in a row. Should have been nine but I was being real particular in 2009 and ended up not pulling the trigger.Nice job Joe, is this three or four in a row now? I am still looking in the N Cascades!
7.....u might want to start a guide service so u can be in the field a little longer in the spring!!!!! Sure hope I can find a bear that comes close to your hog and thanks for posting the video. Thanks! That is seven in a row. Keep at it! May is when they really start to get active...
Thanks! I wasn't able to get a weight as I was alone and quartered him on the spot. I don't feel bad guessing he was 400 pounds. Certainly closer to 400 than 300.Great bear! It's hard to find those on public land. . . Sorry if someone already asked, how much did it way?
That's exactly what I would have guessed. Did you shoot him on public? It's hard to find big bear like that in the open on public land unless you can get to secluded places. I don't have a criticism, I'm just curious. It's a great bear regardless and its fun too see big ones like that put on the ground! Thanks! National Forest bear. Very secluded spot... I'm hunting the coastal rainforest and we are fortunate to have some dandy bears due to very heavy cover and lack of access. That's exactly what I would have guessed. Did you shoot him on public? I shot one when I was 18, my first bear. It was 16 years old and weighed 345 lbs. One of my favorite hunting memories.
Wow. Well good work finding a public land bear that big. I'm jealous!! We're going memorial day to NE Oregon so hopefully we will see something that big.National Forest bear. Very secluded spot...
