I just confirmed that having a big 6x6 bugling at 30 yards is way more intense than jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!

Either you just jumped out of a plane, or where you live the elk are way ahead of the curve..? I've seen a few nubby Bulls, but no bugles yet this year for sure. I'll assume the first? I've done both as well. Jumping out of a plane is cool because you know you might die. Bugling elk are cool because they remind you that you are 110% alive!

I can't stand next to a ledge let alone jump out of a plane. Congrats on the chute opening up and having a fun time.
My first jump was videoed. Guy had a go pro on his wrist. After we jumped he told me to yell and say hi to the camera. Worst advice ever! May as well have dumped a bag of flour in my mouth! I opened up to say "woohoo!" And throw up the shocker. As soon as I said "wo" my mouth was stuck open and cheeks ballooned up like a blowfish.

I have jumped 12 times. Hunting is a great adrenaline rush but jumping is unbeatable in my opinion. I have gone 180 mph on my bike, zip lined, hunted and other not so smart things but jumping was the top for me. It is so exciting the initial leap from the plane overwhelms your senses. I am glad you had a good time.
Although a big bull elk screaming at very close is pretty intense I don't personally think it's more intense than jumping from a plane. For me I don't quite think there is any feeling like the door of an airplane being open and and going against your better judgement and throwing yourself out of it. Congrats on your first bump btw, it's pretty addicting for some. I finally went for the first time in 2010 and now I have 228 jumps 
P.s. Just asked my girlfriend(who did her first jump with me in 2013 and had an elk within 10 ft of her last year) which she thought was more intense and she said the elk was more intense. Guess I'm in the minority
