It's all over but the crying for me... I drew nothing! Really hard to swallow not drawing a single tag in the state you live in. I wasn't even putting in for hard to draw tags on some of them either. This stinks. Maybe I should head east and shoot some whitetails? Oh wait... that's all private land.

It looks like you still have plenty to do this fall. There's nothing wrong with spending some quality time with your family, doing the things you love to do. So, IGWT, did you NOT apply for G in WY this year? Don't tell me you applied, may draw the tag, burned all your points, and then won't get to hunt?

Draw worked for us this year. I drew a 2nd season deer tag to go with an otc archery cow and otc 3rd rifle bull tags. My buddy drew muzzle loader cow, 2nd deer to go with 3rd otc bull tag. His son drew doe and cow tags for 3rd season. Going to be some full freezers this year, hopefully.

Come on...will figure something out.

Man that stinks! Crazy how some people draw several tags and others(me and you) draw nada. Oh well at least OTC is an option for
elk. Next year is our year.

I didn't put in because I was waiting to see what happened with the Colorado draw. I didn't want to have too many tags during one season and not get to dedicate enough time to hunt both tags. I knew I would have a few days to apply to Wyoming after the Colorado draw results came out. This is the first year ever that I haven't drawn my regular rifle bull tag as a second choice.

The 581 on the left side means you drew a tag. Congrats!

Know where 6 over 160 came off walk-in public this year in a somewhat small area of national forest. (People forget that the majority of folks here would rather hunt private where they have more control of who they hunt with.) The 13" rule has helped the public land tremendously bc it lets most yearlings and 2yo survive, once they hit 3 they start the switch over to being more nocturnal when it comes to hitting openings.

1st rifle bull tag for me. Woohoo! I'm also excited to finally burn some points as I've been building them in many states for a few years now. It's felt like I've been throwing money into a black hole every year but hopefully it starts to payoff now.

Just got around to checking the backdoor, "591" showing for deer here. I had one more point than was necessary to draw last year.

Check out Arizona's OTC archery deer hunts. The tag is good for some areas in September and if you don't punch your tag you can hunt Muleys and Coues in the December while they are rutting. At least you and I can still hunt a bull during archery season with an OTC tag.

Thanks for the tip on Arizona OTC. In reality, even though I didn't draw any tags it will still be a full hunting season with OTC elk, possibly OTC bear, or maybe even OTC pronghorn. I'll take a look at the leftover deer draw too. My uncle drew a book cliffs muzzleloader bull tag that ill tag along on and I'm taking a kid on a third season buck hunt. Disappointing when you don't draw but luckily there's lots of other options to get a guy out there hunting... even if it is a 10% success rate hunt, its still hunting!

I'm in the same boat. Building points and starting this year I should be drawing some decent to great tags every year. I got my 1st ever elk tag this year. Good luck on the 1st rifle bull tag!

^^^^ I totally agree with you. I hunt a lot of these type of hunts. I did draw a good one this year though and am to the point I should draw a good tag a year too!

Looks like elk is finally posted via backdoor...at least mine is. Show I drew my M/L cow tag which was second choice (point was 1st).
That goes along with my 4th season deer tag. Drew everything I applied for except the desert sheep. I'm happy with both tags!

Got my moose point refund today.
