I am stoked about the Weatherby Vanguard being given away! I would be using it for ALL of my upcoming rifle hunts. The .257 is a great, flat shooting caliber that can put anything down! Especially those mulies that I have to shoot from 300 plus yards away in Eastern Oregon.

It would have been nice to have the Weatherby .257 for my once in a lifetime mountain goat hunt this last year in 2014. My old wooden stalk, Remington Model 721 was NOT what I wanted to take on this hunt but It's all I had. Due to an extreme amount of climbing rocks and trecking through boulder fields, the wood on my stock is now chipped up pretty well. I live in Oregon and between battling the rain for blacktail and roosevelt elk on the western side of the state and long range shooting for mulies and rockies on the eastern side, I cant think of a better gun than a synthetic and flat shooting gun like the weatherby .257! And between expenses for my upcoming wedding in July and that goat hunt last year, I can't afford a new rifle but am in definite need of one. Thank you Eastman's for this wonderful oppertunity!

On this hunt, I wish I had the Yeti package chilling cool beverages upon my return to camp. The temps were in the 90's on this day and I returned to my cooler to find my food and drinks in a pool of luke-warm water. Bummer.
