I have always wanted to do a Archery Goat Hunt but since the point deal for a non resident would be out of the question at my age 53, I have been considering a hunt in BC. Has anyone done a Archery Goat Hunt in BC or does anyone have any recommendations for a hunt like this. It would be nice to do this hunt while I am in good shape and in good health. Thanks Mark

Keep the information coming. Has anyone hunted with any of the outfits above and what were your experiences. Sort of looking for a 2016 hunt. Really looking for some first hand experiences and recommendations. If you would like to PM me feel free to do so. Thanks Mark

Anyone have any other suggestions on this? Looked a lot into Bolen Lewis. Looks like A++ outfit and I know you get what you pay for, but man they're expensive. Anyone been on any other goat hunts, rifle or bow, that they'd recommend or steer away from? Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Being a resident of BC and never having hired a guide I can't really recommend anyone to you but I can tell you that you're in for a memorable hunt. I was drawn for goat in my region(Kootenays 4-06) and although I wasn't successful it was quite the experience. Definitely not for the faint of heart, I am cautious while hunting in our mountains and goat hunting pushed me out of my comfort zone. That said I've put in for the same draw each year since and have thought about trying for one OTC in another region if I'm not successful here this year. Best of luck and enjoy your hunt here in BC.
I would recommend joining one of our local Forums (either Hunting.BC or Bigshots.BC) but at the moment there is a political fight going on between guides and residents over the recent allocations ruling. With no consultation with resident/native hunters in a closed door negotiations to which the GOABC(guides + outfitters association of BC) were the only ones invited the government decided to allocate a much higher percentage of wildlife tags to the guides. In many cases as much as 25-40% of very desirable tags and species. Needless to say residents are up in arms, even with the protests and rallies our government doesn't seem to care what the hunters say. There's not enough of us for them to really pay attention and the GOABC lobby has very deep pockets and have made some very substantial contributions to our ruling party. You likely wouldn't receive much in the way of positive feedback if you where to pose your questions there.

I gotta weigh in on this one, you really might want to consider Kodiak Island. The goat population is waaay up, to the point that there is a 2 goat limit in some areas on the Island. It's a "guide required" species for non-residents but you sure have a good probability of success.

I can recommend some outfitters if you want to send me a p.m.
