Great, if I remember right I had around 16 points. Now I'm drooling on my 19 desert sheep points in NV. Average to draw non-res is 18!
Oh man you wait if you draw that desert tag. Freaking awesome hunt! It's a lot of fun!Great, if I remember right I had around 16 points. Now I'm drooling on my 19 desert sheep points in NV. Average to draw non-res is 18!
I debate this every year, definitely more sheep down south but drawing one somewhat north would make scouting a lot easier. I "only" have 10 points so I'm getting close.NVarcher, I'm going crazy for the idea. Still haven't decided if I want to go for area 16, 17 or 263, 268? 16 and 17 were my backyard growing up and years after. More sheep down south.
There sure is! I went a lot of years just putting in for points because I just knew I didn't have the time during school and vamping up my career as well as the $ needed to do it right. Now that that is past it's just a matter of time. I have small kids but an amazing wife who knows how passionate I am about hunting. I would love to draw next year but a part of me wants to wait a few more years so that I can take my son. I know will draw CA and Desert one day, I just can't wait until I do!NVBird, with tags being so hard to come by in NV, it's a ton of pressure to get it right!
I hope you're not misunderstanding how the bonus points work in NV. They don't assure anything no matter how many points you have. There were only 28 tags total for the entire state for non-residents.NVarcher, I'm going crazy for the idea. The way I looked at it was if I was going to draw a once in a lifetime tag I would want to have the best tag I could. So I really only applied for near vegas. That being said there is great hunting up north in 16 17 and 18.Thanks Gr8, I'm a NV native so I know all too well how the points do and don't work. Lol
The awesome thing is for a guy as young as you is that it won't be a once in a life timer. As long as you stay in NV you will draw Nelson again for sure. The cool thing about NV is that if you are putting in for all sheep you will most likely have 3 more sheep hunts in your lifetime at least, CA, Rocky, and another Nelson. The way I looked at it was if I was going to draw a once in a lifetime tag I would want to have the best tag I could.
