Has anyone used the "Be the decoy" hats and shirts for antelope stalking? Just curious, Ive seen in on "Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg and I think one could do just as well with all camo? Just curious on peoples thoughts...

a buddy of mine used one on a hunt in Idaho last year. said he stalked to within 150 yards of a good buck and could't get any closer without betting busted so he put the hat on and the goat ran on a dead run to 40 yards of him and stopped and he arrowed it. that was the first time he had tried it. he was pretty pumped about it. so they must work some times.

Get the right buck in the right situation and I bet it works. But the buck has to be territorial.

I've watched that episode with Randy and all I could think of was that it's a good way to get shot on public land with some of the nuts out there that blaze away at anything they see that remotely looks like an animal.

I agree with TG 30-06, my thoughts exactly. There is no way I'd dress up like an animal, even if it is archery season. Stick with a decoy, and becareful with them also!

Sorry guys, I draw the line sometimes. This is one of them. I'm not gonna be trying one of these anytime soon. I may buy one for some goofy photo ops though hahaha.....I about spit all over my computer when I pulled this up. I'd never heard of these and the pictures sent me over the edge.

Branden one of the inventors was here on the forum for awhile. He checks in on occasion. I asked the same question about how dangerous this was. He said it was only for archery season. They felt that if a guy was within bow range they would clearly be able to see that it was a human and not a antelope. He said it clearly stats it on the packaging it's for archery only.

I 2nd this statement for safely using this product. Bow season only, and I think it has potential! :)
