Wyo Sheep... No max points tags?

Curious if I'm really reading the Wyo draw correctly... It looks like going into the 2014 draw there were 16 people with max points of 19. On the draw results summary it looks like the highest points that took tags was 18.

I find it hard to believe not a single max point holder would take a tag for sheep...

It is crazy, but people trying to stack the odds for the future do crazy things...

Yep, guys with max PPs probably know exactly where they want to go before they use their PPs and they also might be saving up the money to hire a good guide for when they draw and that isn't cheap.

Sheep arent' the only species this may happen to. There are whole groups of NR hunters with max points, waiting for the perfect year to draw. It can really change odds and points requirements.

Yep, and then when tags start getting cut you have a year like this one where the draw odds go to he** in a handbasket!

I understand individuals holding on points until ready to hunt (money, vacation, whatever)... Probably a lot of us on here holding points we could cash. Point of initial post was not a single max point holder (out of 16) taking a tag? That's just plain crazy!

It might seem crazy to some but I don't think so. My wife is one of those who could draw a sheep tag right now but didn't apply for a tag. I'll probably put her in the draw in 5 years or so from now when the kids are long gone and time is more available. I avoided applying for moose or sheep for myself this year as well because I knew my Dad had a good shot at drawing a moose tag and I didn't want the burden of trying to get two good tags filled. "A man's got to know his limitations" And yes my Dad drew his tag.

Some may also be older guys holding onto the points waiting for their health to get better. Others guys who collect points, but will never hunt because they can't afford the tag or the guide, but are waiting for their financial luck to turn around. Endless possibilities, but still very baffling. I would have expected at least a couple to cash in though. I just hope to draw someday before I'm too old. Maybe in the next 15 years if the population doesn't crash like moose did.
