Yukon Rain Jacket?

Thanks everyone for the great info. on the Guide jacket. I've figured out what I need with everyones help. Now I'd like to pick-up a dedicated waterproof, fowl weather piece when the weather really turns ugly. The Kuiu Yukon jacket looks like a good candidate. Questions are (1) How's the fit, is it cut a little fuller than the Guide jacket with the expectation it is to be an outer layer with probable layering underneath (2) Kuiu website says it is quiet. Is it comparible to the Guide jacket? Thanks for all your help. I know I can call Kuiu for that info. but I find it beneficial to get the opinions of those consumers who actually put the products to use.

I know the Yukon fits baggier for a fact but I don't own one. I've also heard complaints that it is a little louder. Raingear is always a little louder than soft shells. Others will have to chime in to give you more specific information.

It would be nice to hear more about the sizing though. I have the Large in the Guide. It fits a little loose but its perfect for layering. I don't want the Yukon to be much larger and I know it comes in a loser fit. I'm wondering if a medium Yukon would fit over a large Guide or large Kenai?

KUIU products are layer specific so the Yukon is the "biggest" of the series because it is made to fit over everything else. I'm happy with my XXL sizing in all my KUIU tops as they are made to "nest" or fit in a layering scheme. As for noise? Yes, it is not super quiet but not super loud either. I am very happy with it overall. Great nasty weather gear!

Sizing

Grizz: Does that mean your Yukon jacket is the same size (XXL) as all your other tops? When you ordered your Kuiu pieces did you order a size up from your normal size from other makes? If I can ask so I can compare for my sizing. What's your height, weight, and waist measurements. Thanks

You may also want to take a look at Rivers West Isolation jacket and pants, I bought these a year and a half ago and couldn't be more pleased with this product, well thought out features and a very quiet outer shell.

I hope I don't confuse the issue but the Yukon Jacket is not your typical rain gear. I wear it as a all-purpose jacket even in cool hunting weather.
It's not loud like a typical rain jacket's material, I would compare it closer to most lighter-uninsulated jackets. I would say It has no insulation, breathes amazingly, and feels indestructible. That being said I wear a Large in everything and my Yukon is a medium. I did this because they are bigger than normal sizing to accommodate layering. I just wanted to have a more snug, athletic, streamlined fit for hunting in the timbers when wet branches and aspens drop water or snow all over you when you barely brush up against them.

Lastly it's expensive compared to say the Guide jacket so think about what you will use it for. Hope this helps.

I have the Yukon set and bought it a several years ago has held up great for me so far the only complaint I have is it's a little noisy but other then that its great.
As far as the sizing goes I order the same size as the base layers and fits fine when layered, its even maybe a little lose but all in all I love their gear.
