We can't stockpile the animals and if you have a harsh winter then more deer will die because they will eat all the food and more will die. Remember they cut back the last year or too so it will go back up around where they had them 5 years ago.

If these quota's do pass, Nevada's trophy quality will be absolutley non-existent as well as a large decrease in number of animals. A lot more young deer will be killed and pretty soon it will be forky's running everywhere. BAD IDEA!

Isn't NV currently in a slight drought or more? drought plus more tags?

hopefully they know more than I do.

Just hope they continue to have or increase trophy quality. When I draw a tag there I want it to be good!

Horrible, HORRIBLE idea!!! Eastern deer numbers are all ready dwindling down and now in certain units like Big 6 and 7 they want to triple tag output?!!! It is going to devastate the herds. NDOW showed promise by not allowing for doe tags, only to junior hunters. You could actually see the increase in numbers, but all that will be wasted if they agree to the tag allocation recommendations.

I read the report. Sounds like they have done their research and r confident the numbers are their. OK with the increase.

3 people on the council resigned because we have all the tree huggers having a fit with the tags. They said since the biologists are wanting this they know what is right since they study the populations every week. The good thing is that area 16 dropped some rifle tags. Can't wait to be bow hunting this year!

I don't have "much" stake in the game numbers since I don't reside in NV, but I do have an opinion. Of course I have an opinion, I currently hold points in Nevada, and therefore, I vote no increase. Let the past speak for itself, Nevada is a good "trophy" state, and past administrations working with NVDOW, performed nicely. Don't disrupt a good thing, and keep the hunters coming to Nevada,,,lets say,,,instead of Colorado! Trophy quality keeps em comin' back, not forkies. Keep a good thing goin', and yes, you cannot stockpile game, but it does increase the opportunity to "have" trophy animals available.

So I wanted to update a bit. 50%+ increase in tags this year and supposedly only for this year?! Did someone need a bonus at FnG? I hope it goes back to the way it has been. Thanx for the input Boss.

You took the words right out of my mouth BB. It's usually all about the revenue ...
I have 7 pts. in their bank also, Just like Az., they take you money every year for years at a time. You have no choice if you are drawn and it's a bad year to be deer hunting. Only what you hear the year before. $$$

I have a theory on it but am not sure if I want to share it though.

I hope for you Nevada residents they do drop the tag allotment the next year. And I hope the powers that be don't fall in love with the revenue because you could be on the fast track to being Oregon just like Colorado. Just my two cents.

I've never hunted Nevada, and probably will never get the chance, but it's stupid to mess with a good thing. In 2 states I've seen the damage caused by giving out too many tags. Everybody's happy for a couple years, but then nobody's happy for a long time while the herd rebuilds.

Bring it on. Don't hold back we know you want too
I am not sure but I think it can be true. Ok this increase was a 1 year deal so far. Well I am thinking by them increasing the tags they got rid of almost everyone's bonus points. I am thinking it was a way to clear all of the bonus points because it has to be hard keeping track of all those people and points. Not sure if true but I think I makes perfect sense to me.
