Invaseve species like the YellowStone Wolves need to be killed all of them.
The native species like elk deer sheep and bison lives matter shame on the feds for releasing a monster in the forest.

It doesn't matter for or against the wolf they need to be controlled just like any other animal. Personally i am against them ever having the wolf reintroduced. There was a reason our fore fathers killed them off way back when.

I agree but they are here to stay. at least until such time as logic returns to our nation

I actually met one of the government trappers that eradicated the wolves out of Yellowstone many years ago. He said that the last one that he trapped was the sadist thing that he had ever saw. This man also traveled around the world as a government hunter taking care of problem animals. Everything from lions, tigers, elephants, or what ever else walked. As soon as you would call BS on some of his stories he would pull out a box with all of his photos in and pull one out and make you feel like a heal.

What the hunter did who shot this wolf was nothing wrong but when it gets posted on the WWW you are going to get remarks from every basement dweller out there that thinks that all meat comes from a store with a Styrofoam tray wrapped in plastic or a can, and it will never change.

It is too bad that there is no way to keep them inside of the park but then they also allow us hunters a rare opportunity to hunt a apex predator here in the lower 48 states. If you go elsewhere up north they are shot on sight with no questions asked. When I was up in British Colombia my outfitter and I were hiking along when we came upon a coyote at about 20 yards and he just pointed. Once that dog ran off I asked him if he wanted me to shoot it and he said no. I then asked him what I should do if I should spot a wolf? He told me that I would get the idea after he had fired off his 6 shots out of his 44 magnum pistol that he had strapped to his chest.

The news articles have resurrected the word "beloved" for this wolf. The antis are calling for a buffer zone around Yellowstone, but I thought that the park was the sanctuary, not the entire west.

it will change when the current government falls and all these idiots are starving. when those days are upon us, I expect they will happily, chew the ass end out of any dead wolf they are lucky enough to stumble across.

I like how when someone Legally kills a animal with a name we are categorized as Trophy Hunters.

It has actually come to the point that if you kill any animal you are a trophy hunter. It doesn't matter if it has a name or not, and it doesn't matter if you consume the meat you are a trophy hunter to a lot out there.

What is sad is that when you read the post that people are making that actual hunters will chime in and disagree with the shooter claiming that they are long time hunters that hunt only for food. Perhaps they are hunting in the retail stores and not out in the woods.

Boy, some people are really out there! If you read only the comments, youd think the "trophy hunter" shot the last remaining wolf on the face of the planet. SMH.

these type people show more outrage over a dead wolf then they would if their own child was abducted and murdered.
to be fair I would probably have more empathy for the wolf then I would have for them also.

The wolf quotas need to increase and we need to hunt grizz in the lower 48. 24/7/365 on the wolf and set a quota, a tall one.

I get your meaning and love the passion but no point in raising the quotas if they are not being met now.

I've been planning a griz hunt in florida but only for a week and I plan on sleeping at night.

Federal Government wont allow wolves to be hunted on public lands due to emotional appeals by the propagandists - that means that the Federal Government is bad.

Federal Government wont allow states to have more input on public land management due to emotional appeals by the propagandists - that means that the Federal Government is good.

Interesting thinking around here.

The ranchers will eventually get their way. They have more power in these situations once the animals are removed from endangered lists.

G&F will manage with a blend of science, hunter input, and farm/ranch lobby in a 10%, 10%, 80% breakdown.

I do not think they will ever be tolerated in states like Nebraska, Kansas, or South Dakota due to the strong power the farmers and ranchers have in those states.

But to be fair I don't think the average resident of Wyoming or Montana really wants wolves running around well beyond existing footprints either so its' really just a matter of the delisting to take place and then we will probably see more hunting opportunities in Wyoming.

A couple of interesting twists would be.
1 Montana deciding to allow griz north of YNP to expand territory and connect with those in Glacier NP.
2. Colorado deciding to reintroduce wolves at RMNP.
