First Mule deer! 28" 4x5 430 yard shot. Found him the day before the opener and he was no more than a hundred yards from where he was bedded! Super stoked!!! I have high expectations for my Utah hunt coming in October. I really wanted to explore this zone more but I couldn't pass on this buck.

Poor photo quality on the live picture since I just lined up my phone camera through my spotting scope. Some of the most beautiful country to hunt in as well.

If you don't mind my asking, where is x9 located? I hunted, I believe, x1 area east of Mt. Shasta years ago. My Dad was still alive then and this was his old stomping grounds. Medicine Lake was his favorite area.
