So I see a ton of doe tags for these, so I guess access must be really hard. My question is can a couple guys get some does on the little amount of public? Or does anyone know a rancher that might want some does thinned out? We are coming out middle of October and hunting unit 90-2 for bucks. We didn't draw any doe tags for that unit. We have a little over a week to hunt and want to take our time and get some nice bucks. But we are also looking at a back up plan in case we tag out early and looking at adding to the freezer and seeing a new part of the state. Thanks for any help. I know it's a long shot so late in the year but heck a guy's got to try right?

The tags are left for a reason, so you're taking your chances if you can't find a ranch that will let you on. Many will allow does to be taken for free, especially as the season wears on and the opening week crowd is gone.

Call the warden and biologist, they should have some numbers for you to call to gain permission.

Personally, I would not hunt doe on the public ground. Try to gain access to a ranch, you will save a ton of $$ on gas.
