My brother and I put in with three points each for Unit 34 deer. Also put in for Unit 73 antelope, which is the same as the deer unit. Main focus is on deer. Anybody have experience hunting this unit, especially during archery season? Just wondering what to expect, what to look for, and what to avoid.

73 is an excellent archery antelope area. Plenty of public land for you to roam on. It can be pretty hilly in the public areas which makes for great spot and stalk antelope hunting. You'll see tons of goats and have plenty of blown stalks. There are some great bucks in 73 but they're not easy to find. Same goes for deer, you should see plenty of bucks. Get up high and glass at first light. If I were archery deer hunting in 34 I'd shoot the first 150" buck I could settle a pin on, but that's just me.

I'm not really familiar with the nonresident point system or how many it takes to draw an area, but if it were me I would use my points for a different area, unless you know are 34 really well.
