We are going to apply for Area 60 and hunt the Medicine Bow National Forest. We don't have a hard sided trailer so staying in Laramie. Anyone know about the Gas Lite Inn as a place to stay? Are the roads passable with a 4x4 or should we bring an ATV? We are DIY hikers and only use vehicles to get to the drop off locations. Anyone know anything about the archery season in the Curt Gowdy park? We are bowhunters at heart and are considering doing that instead of rifle. Thanks for any help, we are mostly elk bowhunters and are trying our hand at mulies this year since we don't have points for elk this year.

Don't know about the motels, but I live just east of Laramie and go up there a lot, not saying I know it all, but seen a lot of it. The archery only area isn't what I'd focus on, there are a fair amount of roads and there in good condition. If you had room for a quad great, but wouldn't make it a priority. Make sure you get good maps of the roads at the Lincoln rest stop on top of the hill there isn't near as many illegally created roads up there as there use to be, but there's still some and if your on one you will get a ticket. Originally from Barron county right down the road from you, need a little more insight shoot me a pm. Good luck its a fun area.
