hello antelope hunters. I live in Ohio and cannot or do not have the ability to do pre-scouting or looking the country over prior to hunting. My question is, how are the antelope numbers in the following units, 67, 75, and 97? what are the weather forecast like for the coming spring? What type of pressure would we run into in units 67and 75, I have hunted 97 in the past so I am aware of that unit. I have calls in to the 2 Game Wardens and biologist for those units and plan on picking their thoughts as well. thanks in advance for all the help.

You can actually do some preseason scouting right from your computer at your home. Take down these figures that I just got from the 2014 Final Regulations. Then when the Final Regulations for 2015 are posted on the website take a look and see if tags have stayed the same, gone up, or gone down and you can apply accordingly:

67-1 250 tags
67-1 25 tags

75-1 300 tags
75-6 25 tags

97/117 Type 1 300 tags
97/117 Type 2 50 tags
97/117 Type 6 150 tags
97/117 Type 7 75 tags

If the unit is above the population objective you will find more unrestricted doe tags. When they cut the doe tags to say qty (25) then the population is usually lower than what Wyoming Game and Fish would like to see and they are protecting the does to increase the population. This is one way to get a general feel for the health of the Antelope population in the unit.

67 & 75 are still recovering from the harsh winter / drought cycle that we're coming out of. 97 usually has good numbers from year to year, but they camp out on the alfalfa fields most of their lives.

67 is also missing an entire age class of bucks...this coming up season will really be hurting as there are hardly any 4 1/2 year olds. Then it will start to get better after that.
