Hello,

I'm new here and looking to go on my first Wyoming Antelope hunt in September. I purchased a leftover tag in unit 109 and would like to know where the better Public land is in the Unit? I know there's not too much, but If anyone could pass some info on to me that would be great!! Thanks

You can cover it all in a few days, so I'd just plan on hunting it all.

Good luck and God bless!

I haven't hunted it but we drove around in 109 a little bit when we were staying in Sheridan and hunting another unit. There are definitely antelope there, it's just that it's mostly private land, as I'm sure you are already aware of. There is one pretty good size chunk of state land that I would hunt if I had that tag. There is a county road that just barely goes through one corner of it on the south side. I'd park there and walk in at least a mile in the morning before the sun is even up. I'd probably get to a high point and sit there for a couple hours and try to spot some animals, and/or hope a herd gets pushed my way. Heck I might even sit in that one spot all day. Just because there really aren't many places to hunt in the unit. But I do know there are antelope there as I saw some that were either on the state land, or very close to being on the state land.
