All,
I am looking at trying the draw and my luck with Unit 26. Does anyone have any information about this area and the actual availability of public land there? I have looked at several maps and found that multiple roads touch the BLM or Bankhead Jones areas. Can you access these from the road and hunt them?

Thank You

I believe if they touch a county maintained road you can access them. Call the county to get confirmation though. Do you have any points?

From what I can tell the special draw is 100%. I have contacted the NFS and BLM and I have maps on the way. I believe I should be good. Just need to find out if there are actually goats in the areas I'm looking at.

I can tell you from driving through there that there are animals. Do you have points? Looks like type 1 wasn't quite 100% with zero last year.

According to hunters trailhead it was 97.3% last year with 0 points. I have an old guide from 2011 that has the area listed as poor access to public land with 76-100% private. However it has it listed as "Good" for a chance to harvest a mature buck.

I will agree there are antelope in good numbers there just to back up siwulat there. I don't know much about public land there, though. Well good luck.

I appreciate the info everyone and hopefully it will work out. Still got a while to decide and put in for the draw or not.

The game and fish forecast said there was again lots of opportunities for a good hunt with the walk in areas or something like that, but haven't really been there much. The forecast deal is up for this year kindof gives a short little speel on everywhere.

We hunted it last year. We hunted out of Lusk. If was good on the walk in areas, but we ended up paying a minimal trespass fee to hunt a ranch. They had plenty of antelope and we had a great time.
Let me know if you want any contact info.

In 2014 I hunted 24 and my buddy drew 26. It was my first trip out there but if my memory serves me correct 26 had very limited access to public ground. There plenty of goats around and most of them were on private ground.
