Wyoming antelope doe hunt

Anyone do any research on an area just to doe hunt. With fair to good access and good chance of getting drawn. Most all reports I read are for where to hunt for a trophy buck. I think I just make this process way to complicated. I've looked at numbers and lists for a month and no closer to deciding now than when I started. Any advice?

Have fun.

The interactive map on the WY G&F website will give you an idea of access in each unit as well as draw odds.

I suspect an average hunter could find a doe antelope to shoot just about anywhere in Wyoming. More about figuring out where you want to stay.

If you really want a challenge find one with horns. Some does can have a little set, even with cutters.

Work2hunt got it. Pick an area with good access and perhaps some other activities for after the doe hunt, fishing and bird hunting come to mind.
The hunt planner map is a great tool .

Thanks for the info. We're trying for Region D deer so looking in that area. Maybe 43 and hunt one of the managed areas. Maybe stay in Medicine Bow and hunt both places. Any advice?

Then I would pick based on closeness to your deer hunt and tag numbers to go with access. 43 would be good as well as 46 or 48. 38 not bad but those antelope really move on and off the public spots, doe are easier and later in 38 the better.
Doe are a fun hunt, look for some trophy doe horns.

Would have liked to hunt 46 but doesn't look like much of a chance to draw doe tags there. I kinda know one of the ladies that own part of the Medicine Bow River ranch.

I hunted region D in the past for deer and also hunted 52-2 and 46 for both antelope bucks and does. It would be real easy to get a doe antelope in one of those areas if you draw a tag there. Both are close to D.
Good luck in the draw.

Thanks, looks like right now we'll probably try 43 and hunt one of the managed areas. Any one any better than the other?

Not sure where you'll stay in Medicine Bow, 2 hotels and not sure about one of them, the other is the Historic Virginian.
Any antelope area around your deer hunt will have plenty of doe, our region is doing well right now on numbers.
43 gets hunted hard on the HMAs, but early is worst.
52 and 50 wouldn't be bad areas.

There are lots of nice campsites in Medicine Bow NF down around Arlington and Elk Mountain. A little bit of a drive to those antelope areas, but not bad at all, and gets you out of the wind (mostly). That's what I did last year and will do again this year.

I will add, and no offense to you, to make sure you are indeed shooting a doe. I know of more than one case of someone getting a nice citation because they killed a ?small? buck and tried to get away with it under a doe tag.
Good luck as we hope to pick up a few extra doe tags as well. Not sure what our plan is but we will likely surf the WY game and fish site and try to either find a private ranch or a unit with available public land doe tags. One year all we simply did was call the warden in the unit we had Deer tags and he gave us a ranchers name to call, secured the spot and then got the tags.
