Here I come, ready or not. Yes, I'm a little discouraged about the talk of winter kill this year and a little nervous about the potential of running into a grizzly. I can't wait to hunt some new country though. As a non-resident, the wilderness area will limit my choices on a DIY hunt. I have read that there's some steep and deep country in Reg H. Time to step up the exercise routine.
I have read that the non-wilderness areas can receive a great deal of pressure. If you are familiar with the unit and the deer hunt, should I consider the bowhunt in early Sept in lieu of the rifle opener in Mid-Sept? Will a 2-3 mile spike camp get me away from the crowds? Thanks for your input.
